On Film-Making: An Introduction to the Craft of the Director (2005)

Alexander Mackendrick was the director of Whisky Galore! (1949), The Man in the White Suit (1951), and The Ladykillers (1955). He taught film at Cal Arts from 1969 to 1993 and this book is a compilation of his teaching notes, edited by Paul Cronin.
