My name is Laure Halliday and I’m an author and teacher specializing in movies and movie-making. I was raised “on location” and after graduating from the MFA in film production program at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, I worked in the Hollywood film industry before receiving a PhD in Film from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and New Media. I started a film program at my son’s middle school and have taught film classes to students from 6th grade through college undergraduates. I’m passionate about the ability of movies to bring families together and inspire young filmmakers to create and to share their points of view. I’ve recently written a book for young filmmakers and their families, called What are we Watching? You can check it out here.
